FIRST AMERICAN TO OPEN BRANCH IN GUANGZHOU

Founded in Los Angeles more than seventeen
years ago. The Law Offices of Frederick W. Hong
is the first American law firm licensed to
practice and open permanent offices in
Guangzhou, and one of only nice U.S. firms
licensed to practice in the People's Republic of
China today.
The firm engages in the general practice of
law with emphasis on business and corporate
representations, real estate transactions, civil
litigation, trusts and wills, and immigration
law. Throughout its history, the firm has
provided legal representation for a large number
of California-based and Pacific Rim enterprises.
The Firm's attorneys and support personnel are
bilingual in English and Chinese, and have
served as U.S. legal counsel to numerous major
national and provincial enterprises from the
People's Republic of China. The firm also has
very active clientele in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Mr.
Hong's law practice is global in scope, and
primarily oriented to the concerns of foreign
investment in China. He provides legal advice
and representation to companies doing business
in China. Services include pre-investment
planning, feasibility studies, business
negotiation, joint venture formation and
contracts, and government relations. He assists
foreign investors in all legal aspects related
to earl estate development, construction,
purchase and sale in China. He provides legal
assistance to foreign and Chinese companies in
financial matters, assists clients in civil
actions, and provides representation to Chinese
firms doing business in the United States.
Frederick W. Hong, Esq., the founder of the
firm, was born and raised in Hong Kong before
immigrating to the United States in 1968. He
graduated with honors from the University of
California at Berkeley, earning a B.A. in
Economics. He completed his law studies at
Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles,
earning the Juris Doctor degree.
Mr. Hong is member of the State Bar of
California and the Los Angeles County bar
Association. He is a founding member of the
Southern California Chinese Layers Association.
He has served as President of the Los
Angeles-Guangzhou Sister City Association. He is
a member of the Board of Director of the
National Committee on U.S. China Relations. He
also serves as a member of the Advisory Council
to the California Commission for Economic
Development, as a member of the
California-Canada Trade Relation Advisory
Commission. Mr. Hong was founder of the Pacific
Leadership Council, a Los Angeles based national
organization active in issues concerning
Asian-Americans.
With the opening of offices in Guangzhou, in
October last year, Mr. Hong divides his time
between that city and Los Angeles. His firm is a
key co-sponsor of the upcoming June 16
conference.
